Cambodia Working Trip Day 1 - Guest Blogged by 浪迹天涯小狗 (Live)

喲 喲! 又是浪跡天涯小狗的特別報導。 主人太忙了﹐ 整天不是teleconference就是忙著reply email﹐累翻了!

Anyway, I was dragged on a trip again with mistress, this time to Cambodia, Siem Reap. Sadly, not for leisure, for WORK!! Only 11 days officially as Business Analyst already kana arrow shoot all the way to Cambodia.

This is the Siem Reap International Airport, where we had to climb out of the plane and walk into the arrival terminal. From the looks of it, it seems more like a resort hotel than an airport. Very Phuket kind of feeling the moment u step out of the plane. Slow pace, relax are in the air.

This is the view from the balcony of the hotel room. VERY COOL!!~~ Such Bali feeling, mistress doesnt feel like working and keeps cursing n swearing work.

After checking in to the hotel and spending a few hours resting/frantically setting up the internet, mistress's new boss came down n brought her out for a walk and dinner.

New Market.

There's 2 market place in Siem Reap, New Market and Old Market. Its kind of like ChaTuChak of BKK, only much neater and spacious. But the repetition of the goods is really high.

One specialty of Cambodia seems to be its silk. I see silk scarves EVERYWHERE. N they carry a lot of North Face bags, authenticity unknown. Basically nothing much interesting for mistress to buy.

After the walk and dinner, mistress once again was frantically trying to connect back to the world, after calling help from so many ppl. Well.. She finally trial n errored on her own after the IT personnel gave up. Wat she did? She off the firewall. WAHHAHHAa. n goes abt saying how clever she is. kekkeke.

- Panasonic Lumix DMC-LC50 (probably retiring to beach use or super backup)
- Panasonic Lumix FZ5 (12x zoom. For more pro usage and concerts)

and lastly...

T10!! (For its compact size and super value for money).

Gosh just look at the amount of freebies they gave me. One photo printer, one camera pouch, 2GB memory stick pro duo, one GPS tracking thingy for the camera & one notepad which my bro thot was photo paper. N i injured my palms lugging the heavy thing ard the convention centres and then waiting abt an hr for cab.

I still love my FZ5 lah, dun be mistaken.

Dunno y when the steadyshot is on macro, program ae, dark area, it blurs. FZ5 doesnt have that problem, jus a bit darker.

But one thing good, the program ae brightens the picture by a lot.

N its stylishly cool and small. Had wanted white but out of stock, so settled for black.

N the freebies, i think, go GRAB IT at the IT SHOW!!

因为我要"激怒"一些人，所以就用华语来博.

骗鬼啊!

其实只是无聊想用咱们美丽的中华语言(呕!)... 没有啦! 无聊是真的, NJstar 又因为正在赶"作业"中而开着. 就如此这般咯..

(天啊! 我的华语程度竟然有差到需要Babel fish来翻译irritate的华语是什么..)

言归正传，其实最近有挺多次想博, 登入户口后又写不出半个字, blogger被推到taskbar的一个角落，就没有去理它了。奇怪，是因为太累而没力气用肺说话呢，还是我已经遗忘如何把脑海里想说的博出来。

最近真的是忙透了。一个人, 二十四个钟头, 三种角色 (那些女儿啦，孙女啦就不算)。

上班，八个钟头，两顶以上的帽子，有事没事被拉进去的会议，哪里做得完! 前天还刚立了个新记录: 十点二十才离开办公室。晚上十点二十!! 天啊!我几时这么勤劳的. 还不是为了赶上截止日期. 鸡蛋的， 还以为早上training下午还可以做, 怎知下午被临时拉去另一个training， 就这样我整天好像都没完成什么似的. 然后好巧不巧， 又偏偏报告的数据与上个月的不同，也不是我能控制的范围内, 所以就花了点时间查看是不是有人在process D/O。等了又等, 报告还是不正确，只好硬着头皮做点修饰后就把电邮发了出去. 做到来也十点二十了.

庆幸的是， 我的手下(只当三天我的手下), 明天就来上班了. 但是我还是不放心，所以还是会监督与教导她一段日子。为什么三天呢，因为我的新职位本应在三月一日才生效。可是你以为我老板管它什么二月三月的, 连确认信都没到手就要我当跟班，真的是没有想到我现在的工作量(多过两顶帽子)有多重。还好我终于升职了，而不是继续doing the job without authority.

课业呢... 有点荒废了. 我看不把我丢到山上我是不能专心读书的...

兼职呢... 突然间很多匹马奔到我面前，月尾要把货交出让这些马匹送回去，偏偏月底我有mock exam，还没温习.. 马, 已经派遣两匹了，还剩最后一匹，却又有点卡著的感觉. por pi 明天能顺利交货。

我是大忙人!

那天去Indochine冷了一下, 不知要点什么就点了Peach Martini，他妈的烈. 以后记得提醒我不要点那个了。

我不是一个经常去冷的人. 也超不喜欢冷的. 非常浪费时间与$$的无聊消遣。

为时已晚，该睡了。

恭喜那些能读到这么远, 如果你们是我的动物死党们，至少你们还对得起那只禽兽。哈哈!

其实还有很多很多要博的。。。

I would say, this is the 1st time i contributed to Jack Neo during his CNY money grabbing moment.

Ehh.. I think so.. I'm not a supporter of his tear jerkers.

But this Fann Wong really got me to fork out $10.50, cramp with a whole village of ppl on the way to the entrance (luckily i booked online, if not its queuing with the whole world of ppl for tix), spent 2 hrs inside a cinema on 2nd day of CNY, sat thru till the 3rd day, and then a cab home.

She's like, so unglam, so chor lor.. SO PRO!!

The characteristics she portrayed blended into the script, and of cos with Gurmit's already funny antics.. WOW!

Just a small disappointment that all the laughters were released too early. Lack of firepower at the 2nd half after laffing all the tears out. Literally laff until cry.

Imagine Fann scratching "her crotch". Imagine her grabbing her own breast while Gurmit claiming molestation. Imagine a sissy Gurmit. N Lina Ng wasnt too bad oso, as an auntie-like supervisor with perpectually permanent flu and red nose.

Really laff till.. bueh tahan..

Quite worthwhile to spend ur CNY on this show..

Its not the first time ppl say I look like/am like/is a smaller version, blah blah, of some one.

When I was in JSS, I used to have ppl mistaking me for their fren, n from then on start teasing me.

Then ppl used to think I'm an actress or something. =.="

Then now, ppl spread ard that I'm the mini-version of a fella colleague. Literally spread ard. To the extent of saying I'll be taking her place in the future. Like so embarrassing.

N my ex-boss was saying.. ya she a bit like her.. workaholic.

A Day of Work, A Guy, & A Wedding

And so I applied half day leave, 1) to go IRAS and collect my stupid COR which they delayed so long till it was over the deadline, 2) to go home and change for wedding dinner.

But, it jus had to be that I was thrown some work at the very very last min, and they were rushing out to celebrate the BA's last day. N so, I had to go with them for lunch, go back to work, busy thru another 1 hr+ before RUNNING off.

Was already 4pm when I reached IRAS. Ahhh.. the familiar IRAS, where I often go for meetings.. NOT tax evasion lah..

N so I went to the counter and asked to collect my COR letter.
Me: Hi, err.. I'm here to collect my COR letter.
Staff: COR? Company or Sole Proprietary?
Me: Huh? Err.. mine. Not company. For individual.
Staff: Ur Company?
Me: Personal (!!)
Staff: IC pls.
*passes him my IC, he proceeds to scan it..*
Staff: U apply for wat har?
Me: Taiwan tax rate...
Staff: Orhhhh.... *proceeds to press a button on the que machine*

I thot the cheena speaking fella on the phone told me can jus collect from the counter.. Arh well..

N so I waited. 6 numbers away. Fiddled with the que ticket, trying to recall how to fold a crane.

*30 min later* 3075 counter 13 flashes on the board.

Me: Hello..
Solomon: Hi! How can I help u?
Me: Err.. I'm here to collect my COR..
Solomon: They gave u a que number? So u waited..
Me: Yeah..
Solomon: Actually can jus get it from the counter ppl.
Me: !! But they gave me a que number..
Solomon: Nvm. Can I have ur IC pls?
*Hands over IC which he scans into the system.*
Solomon: Hmm.. Have u applied for ur COR?
Me: Yeah? (unbelievable question to ask)
Solomon: When was it?
Me: Abt a month ago.. Jan 19..
Solomon: 0.0!
Me: Dun tell me its not ready yet... Someone told me its ready for collection.
Solomon: U know the person who told u that? U have the name?
Me: Err.. No names. He nvr give, or that I din catch his name. Some chinese speaking guy.
Solomon: Chinese speaking guy arhh..
Me: I have his number.. Well.. Shld have..
Solomon: That will be much easier. Do u have it like.. now?
Me: Yeah. Shld have. Gimme a while.
*Fumbles thru the phone log*
Solomon: U can fold a heart?
Me: HAR? *spots my paper crane nearby* Oh.. cannot.
*continues looking thru the log*
Me: Yeah.. xxxx xxxx
*Solomon calls*
*ring ring ring ring..*
*No response*
*Calls again*
*ring ring ring ring..*
Solomon: Nvm. U give me a min, I go outside and check with the counter.
*Waits. Looks ard the cubicle. Wall's full of compliment certs. They actually have a grading system according to the number of compliments received.*
*Solomon returns, with an envelope*
Solomon: Yup I got it. I believe they wun call u if its not ready. Now I need you to sign here. *points*
*I proceed to fill in the blanks*
Solomon: Can u oso fold with this kind of paper? *pulls out a post-it pad*
Me: Arhh.. No.. Not that expert..
Solomon: Oh so u can only fold with square papers.. *a bit disappointed*
Solomon: Can u fold a dinosaur? A grasshopper? (full of enthusiasm like a little kid)
Me: Err.. No..
Solomon: Go learn lah! Then fold one for me..
Me: !! N come back here again? *Hehe*
Solomon: *grins*

Little wonder he got all those compliment letters. Such a cute guy.


The fate-bringing crane?

It was already ard 5 when I was done with IRAS, and the cab que is long, with no cabs coming in. No choice but to call for one, luckily its not peak hour charge yet.

Got stuck jus around the corner. Darn the traffic light and the huge cross junction. Was there around 15 min b4 I reached the expressway.

Reach home close to 6. Showered, dressed up, rushed down for a cab to town. No cabs. Call again. Stuck at AYE! *grumbles*

Wedding ended close to 11, got a lift home intending to get some supper at my place. No luck. Drove from my place to Bukit Timah. wahahhaha.

Day ended ard 1+. Slept like a pig today. mwehhehe.

This is a post regarding both the inefficiency of iras and the language used.

But I dunno how to start...

ARhhh...

Ok I received a call from IRAS (make dat successfully connecting through after 2 rejects, 1 deliberately missed call as I was on the other line, 1 return call not picked up and 1 received call picked up but no response), to inform me that my COR (applied on Jan 19, stated URGENT, to be done by 31 JAN!!) will be ready on Wed or Thurs.

Like. AHEM.. AHEM AHEM!! Its already February!!

If I needed it to save a life... DIE liao lor...

Ok NVM. Bcos I KNOW the inefficiencies of governmental bodies, how useless their so-called online system are, how slow they get back to you, how frustrating their automated phone system can link you, how "helpful" their helpline are..

N i already give them wat they needed, cant they jus call me up for clarifications instead of saying, arh.. u din provide sufficient information during the "interview".

AH DUH!!!

Its ur own inefficiency..

That aside, y was the whole conversation made in CHEENA!?! M I in China or Taiwan or some cheena-speaking country? Like.. HUH?? I'm SINGAPOREAN LEHHH.. Not some expat requiring cert of registry. Bugger must be not using his brain while processing. Either that or IRAS did some outsourcing to China or somewhere. More likely the 1st one.

Oh well.. Just Follow LOR (LAW)!!!

Yeah, really freaking auntie behavior. I spent like $100 on Daiso items to organise my room. 2 visits at 2 different branches.

Obsessed with the "portable" storage system they carry. N its only $2!! (Yes I bought A LOT..)

N since my flat is like a huge vacuum machine, sucking in all the dust from dunno where.. perhaps the nearby Tuas..

I need something to protect/cover my mangas!

I was at Chinatown the other day trying to soak in some CNY atmosphere..

But all I got was a big disappointment.

The lightings are minimal (thou good in terms of saving energy), the shops are minimal (they used to spider around all the alleys) and the variety are minimal.

What is happening!?!?! Too early?

I think I have not blogged abt this Dim Sum at Sunshine Plaza yet..

Unless u're an otaku or anime fan (i'm the 2nd one.. not the otaku stage yet), u wun even noe where Sunshine Plaza is. (Serangoon? NOPE! Dats Sun Plaza)

Residing in a little corner in an ulu building which looks like some apartment block from the outside, near the Rocher Dao Huey and opposite Paradiz, 101 Building and NAFA, is Victor's Kitchen. Some Hong Kong styled Dim Sum eatery.

It aint big, the tables are ad hoc-ingly arranged, and even one sub-eating area located away from the kitchen itself.

But the food is nice, if u can finish it while its hot.

I think is Lychee Porridge. Ordered this either cos I wasnt feeling well, or I had toothache, or I jus wasnt hungry.

Althou the pricing a bit steep, roughly $15 to $20 for 2 pax, the food makes up for it. Dat is if u can finish them before it turns cold.

A very very very very GOLDEN show.

A show with a lot of "bouncings". The designs for the female costumes couldnt be any worse.. I had this thot thru'out the show, "The cloth in front is so low.. did it ever slip off? Squeeze until so tight, wun it be easy to jus pop out to see the world?" Super gross costume. N after seeing so many bouncings, the Imperial Physician's wife, who was also the Emperor's ex-wife and 元祥's birth mother, stands out with her flat, no asset front. Really 暴露其弱点.

The 2 big shots, 周润发 & 巩俐, can really see their power and experience through their acting. 周润发 makes a freaking good power-obsessed emperor who is a bit psycho thou the bird initially thot it was 雄霸 of 风云. 巩俐, an empress on the verge of going crazy, frantically embroidering chrysanthemums, 偶尔暴青根 but she reminds me of the Geisha show when her hair is messy and all over the place.

杰王子.. soooo coooool.. Since when his speech is so clear? The clothes looks good, the swordplay is good, jus his acting needs more training. The eyes are either flickering around when its a touching scene, or they look like those of a dead fish.

But still.. 杰王子!!~~

The whole setting, is damn cool. The 声势浩大 场面壮观 scene really whelms me. The thousands of "metalled" and "goldened" soldiers, the millions of chrysanthemums, the courtyard full of 宫女s， 公公s， 打杂的s, etc etc, the fireworks (dat time got fireworks? Looks fake leh.), the cleaning up of the courtyard from the aftermath of a battle with thousands of dead and bloodied body, to removing the bodies, washing away the blood, replanting the pots of chrysanthemums orderly, recarpeting the place. ALL in a short period of time.

Then the colors, either yellow or gold. VERY Very sparkling. Maybe it would be more comfortable to watch it with shades.

All in all, a good show! Other than the vigorous obscene bouncings that is.

More Time! More Time!!

I'm 24. 2 mths 25 days into 24 to be specific.

1 day has 24 hrs.

Its freaking not enough. How good would it be if earth takes 48.. or even 72 hours to rotate ard the sun once?

Even so, it still wun be enuff, as there'll be other activities to waste the hours off.

Days are jus but a counting device.

If there's 48 hrs a day.. i could sleep 18 hours!! How good will it be!?!?

But we only have 24 hrs.

How to squeeze so many things in 24 hrs!?!

Not enuff not enuff!

I'm wearing so many hats somemore.. worker (3 hats here already, 3 different roles), student, daughter, fren, fresh lyricist etc etc.

Everytime i go home, i on my lappy, intending to do something, i get distracted, either by chat boxes popping up wanting me to share some attention to things totally irrelevant to me, or my animes, or some other stuff.

Always distracted..

2007.. I've been busy since Day ONE. N its the FREAKING busy kind. Ok Day One is holiday.. 1st working day then.. I haven even have time for my own reporting. 11 days into January, not even started running the report. N still being loaded with other people's jobs. Super overworked, underpaid, NOT appreciated.

28th Feb is my 1st prelim paper, actual exams starts on 9th May. Just busted $2,020 on exam fees alone. I better not fail anymore.

But..

I HAVEN FREAKING STARTED ANY STUDYING YET!!

The modules oso 3/5 nvr register in my head. Jialat..

I'm so freaking..

Death Note 2

Yeah de.. Part 2..

Light really has a fat round face. It somehow gets very prominent in this sequel. Very Very Big Face.

Kenichi the L is still cranky as ever, if not crankier. He's really good! Hahha the stupid octopus-like mask.

Movie-wise.. too long, i was bored for more than half the show. But the way to get L to nab Light aka Kira with his own hands was ingenious. Using Deathnote to overrule Deathnote.

This is not as intensive as the 1st movie, but can still blur/bore those who do not read the comics, watch the anime, understand Jap, too slow to read the subtitles, etc etc.

Overall, less than expectations.

Jealous was pretty cute thou.

Thus, i exited the theatre with very stiff knees.. After 140 minutes.

猪杂汤

Nothing beats a steaming hot bowl of 猪杂汤 on a cold day.

Well, perhaps there's others, but for now.. 猪杂汤..

N well.. its not hot, cos its 打包-ed and left on my table till i'm done with bathing.. n now i'm blogging while eating it. Bad digestion habit.

I love it with salted veggies. N even after wiki-ing/yahoo-ing the ethnicity of salted veggie 猪杂汤, I din get any clues about it.

Actually, it shld be offal soup. Not pig's organ soup.

N i have a freaking ulcer at the side of my tongue. WHEN DID IT GET THERE!?!
